Experience the Reef
Capitol Reef is Utah’s 2nd largest park with 378 square miles. It was named for a particularly colorful section of the fold where rounded Navajo sandstone formed capitol-like domes and sheer cliffs, often referred to as a “reef.”
Although a highway now crosses the “reef,” there are hundreds of hiking and off-road trails for those who want to see the park’s more remote regions. With more than 100 slot canyons and endelss hiking and ATV trails, you will never get bored exploring Captiol Reef National Park!
